The curriculum

Little Roots will start by learning the foundational and basic skills of the game. Terminology, shooting, dribbling, and passing will be taught through activities, drills, and game play. By the end of the program, children will have a basic understanding of concepts including:  in/out of bounds, foot work, dribbling with their right and left hand, shooting, rebounding, and defense. In addition to basketball fundamentals, the program will also focus on teaching children critical thinking, listening, and teamwork skills. The program puts an emphasis on giving each child a sense of belonging, making new friends, and helping build a social circle outside of the daycare, preschool, or classroom.
